A popular US Instagram influencer and parenting blogger has died aged 36 while pregnant with her fifth child.
Emily Mitchell and her unborn child died suddenly shortly before Christmas, according to a fundraising page set up by her family.
"Our dear Emily and her precious unborn baby left us unexpectedly in the morning of December 22, 2020. Our hearts are broken and her joyful presence will be greatly missed by so many," the GoFundMe page states.
"Em made a big impact in so many people's lives, and this loss is incomprehensible for anyone who knew her. Our friend was a dedicated mom and wife, she had a heart for the Lord, and loved her children so dearly."
Emily ran the Instagram account The Hidden Way, which has more 147,000 followers at the time of publishing.
The GoFundMe page says her death is unexplained, as "doctors are still working on answers for her family".
"Em was having her morning coffee and toast when she suddenly became unresponsive. Despite the prompt attention of her children, husband, father and other medical personnel, all valiant efforts to resuscitate were unsuccessful."
The fundraising page has currently raised a total of a little more than US$160,000 (NZ$243,000), which is said to go towards Emily's surviving children's education as well as the family's adjustment to life without her.
