Organisers say a Valentine's Day pizza promotion which saw 4000 free vibrators delivered across Aotearoa was so successful they're planning on offering more to those who missed out.

Singletons around the country were buzzing last week from the announcement that Hell Pizza was collaborating with online sex toy retailer Adult Toy Megastore (ATMS), offering a bagged bullet vibrator with every double pizza sold.

Customers were required to "opt in" to the promotion and confirm they were 18 or older upon purchasing.

Although the campaign was expected to last the weekend, most vibrators were snapped up in a massive flurry of orders on the first night.

ATMS owner Nicola Relph says she was "blown away" by the popularity of the campaign.

"We're continually amazed at just how much New Zealanders love adult toys. We knew people would love the giveaway, but we didn't know there would be this much excitement. Selling out on the first night was not expected - especially with that many vibrators available," she says.

"It really shows people want to try adult toys, they're mature about it. They want to have a great sex life and they want to experiment.

"We're absolutely thrilled."

If the next few days of lockdown are looking a little lonely or boring for you, there's further good news: Relph says she's decided to give away more vibrators.

"We're going to honour the [promotion] code so that people who missed out can still get a vibe. We decided that with New Zealand moving into level 3 and 2 lock down, people needed something to cheer them up. Maybe a vibe will do that!"

Relph says customers will still need to pay for postage, but the vibe will be free upon entering the code HELLVIBES at checkout.
