A married UK teacher who had sex with a 15-year-old student in a field and sent him topless photos has been jailed for six years.
According to The Sun, Kandice Barber, 35, became friends with the boy on Snapchat so she could send him inappropriate messages, including an image of herself surrounded by sex toys.
During sentencing at the Aylesbury Crown Court on Friday (local time), Judge Bal Bhaliwal said: "You took advantage of a child in your care and groomed him for your own sexual gratification."
Barber reportedly had a "massive sex drive" and split up from her former husband, Carl Greeves, after he rejected her request to swap partners, otherwise known as "swinging", The Sun reports.
"After Carl said no to swinging she seemed more into the attention than ever before. It got to the stage where he started to get suspicious," an unnamed friend told the tabloid.
Barber was found guilty in January of causing or inciting a child under 16 to engage in sexual activity. At the time, her current husband Daniel called the verdict a "joke".
Handing down the sentence of six years and two months in jail, Judge Bhaliwal said on Friday that Barber's behaviour was "beyond despicable".
"There is no doubt in my mind that you acted in gross breach of trust," the Judge said, as reported by the BBC.
