If you struggle with nausea, it can be irritating at best and debilitating at worst, and sometimes leave you feeling like you need to stuff yourself with antacids to stay sane.

But one US woman who struggles with the condition has shared the clever tricks she uses to instantly reduce it, and she's gotten the seal of approval from a doctor.

In a recent video, TikTok user  @onlyjayus started off by showing how  inhaling some rubbing alcohol poured into a paper towel can solve the issue.

The strong smell can help banish the feeling of being sick, she said.

Secondly, she showed how humming can have the same effect. Lastly, holding your tongue to the roof of your mouth and pressing your thumb to your forehead for 20 seconds also works well.

Captioned "body hacks", the video has been viewed over 52 million times by TikTok users who are similarly affected by nausea.

The clip also got the thumbs up from UK doctor Karan Raj, who works for the NHS.

He dueted her video, giving his approval to each of the hacks.

"Rubbing alcohol contains isopropyl ethanol which relieves nausea," he explained.

"Inhale, but don't consume."

The humming trick also works, as humming "suppresses gag reflex", said Dr Raj.
