Star of The Chase Mark Labett has revealed his incredible weight loss in online pics with fans of the show praising him as looking practically "unrecognisable".

The 55-year-old, known to Chase viewers as The Beast, posted a picture on Twitter of his new trim figure posing in a tuxedo.

"The next member of the Double O section?" Labett captioned the snap.

Fans rushed to compliment the general knowledge whiz on his transformation.

"That weight loss! Looking dapper big man, keep up the great work," one person wrote.

"I barely recognised you!" wrote another.

"You look fabulous Mark. Well done on your hard work in losing the pounds," praised a third.

The TV star told the panel on Loose Women earlier this year that he was losing weight "the hard way" after a doctor advised him against getting a gastric band.

"A friend of mine who's had the gastric band operation and is a GP advised me against going down that route because it wouldn't do me any good," he revealed.

"You get your calories from sugar and that's far too easy to digest, so I've had to do it the hard way."

Instead, he credited his weight loss to "a combination of things", including cutting down to two meals a day.

"I'm on a high-protein diet, so I'm eating an awful lot of lean meat," he added.

"As much as I love chips and other carbs, I'm having quite a bit less than I used to. It's become a virtuous cycle. I'm not feeling that hungry so you lose weight, so you're not as hungry.

"My knees really feel the difference. I will never be athletic again but I just move so much better for not carrying that extra weight."
