Mum makes newborn baby a facemask out of her breast milk, calms baby acne

Skincare addicts, take note: A new mum is sharing how she's getting her infant son into a skincare regime by creating a very clever mask to calm his inflamed baby acne.

In a video uploaded to TikTok, US woman Lihn Ta shared how she made a sheet facemask for her newborn baby, cutting a hospital dry wipe down to match the size of his face.

"When your baby has acne so you make a breastmilk mask for him," she captioned the video.

Lihn explained she soaked the DIY sheet mask in cool breast milk before laying over her sleeping son's face. After it was removed, he appeared to be glowing as much as any of us with a 10-step skincare regime can hope.

"I made the mask purely out of boredom and just to have a little fun," she added in a comment.

"I'm a first-time mum so I'm learning things as I go."

The video has racked up over 4 million views with commenters quick to reassure the young mum the 'acne' won't stick around forever, skincare or no.

"Soo cute! But the acne will pass, it's just your hormones leaving their body - it's not like 'our' acne," one person wrote.

"My heart is screaming, this is too cute. Not me going to go cut up a dry wipe and do this on my nine-week-old," another wrote.

"Your babe is going to LOVE these photos when they are like 16 years old," joked another.

"They don't call it nature's gold for nothing!" added another.

In a follow up video, Lihn showed that her newborn's rash had calmed after using the mask.
