A YouTube star with a rare genetic condition commonly known as Benjamin Button disease has died.

Adalia Rose, from Texas had almost three million YouTube subscribers and openly shared what life was like living with the condition Hutchinson-Gilford progeria, which causes problems with growth making sufferers look like they are aging early.

Rose was first diagnosed with the rare condition at just three months old and was 15 when she died.

Her family posted a touching message on Instagram saying  she was "set free from this world."

"She came into it quietly and left quietly, but her life was far from it. She touched MILLIONS of people and left the biggest imprint in everyone that knew her," the post said.

"She is no longer in pain and is now dancing away to all the music she loves. I really wish this wasn’t our reality but unfortunately it is.

"We want to say thank you to everyone that loved and supported her. Thank you to all her doctors and nurses that worked for YEARS to keep her healthy. The family would now like to mourn this huge loss in private."

Hutchinson-Gilford progeria is a rare genetic condition that causes premature death for the patients. According to the Rare Diseases website children who suffer from the condition begin to experience profound growth delays and develop a distinctive facial appearance.

Children with the condition look like they are aging prematurely and don't often survive past their teenage years.

The condition is also known as Benjamin Button disease and was brought to light in the 2008 film The Curious Case of Benjamin Button starring Brad Pitt.
