For those of you who have been applying for jobs and had applications turned down recently, this story might make you feel a bit better.

One UK man's blunder submitting his job application has been revealed and it's fair to say it ultimately resulted in him being declined.

Jacques Paul, from London, shared his experience on the social media platform TikTok, revealing he accidentally sent a copy of his STD result to go with the job he applied for - instead of his cover letter.

While the result was negative, Paul said the blunder left him "freaked out".

"I was applying for this job while listening to music, checking the news, I was looking at COVID rates and doing something else on the side - I was multi-tasking.

"I'd just got my PDF [of my STD test results] downloaded and I was all negative thankfully, but then I accidentally attached it to the job application and sent it in."

Paul said on TikTok that after submitting the application, he checked to make sure everything was in order.

"I wanted to make sure everything was OK. Then I saw the PDF of the STD results and freaked out.

"Within 72 hours I got a standard message saying they weren't proceeding with the application."

Luckily, Paul learned from the blunder - and has now found himself a job.

He said he wanted to share his story to stop mistakes from being stigmatised.

"It was horrible at the time but it's a funny story now."
