Beyond producing wines, Stoneleigh is committed to 'creating better' for the planet - and this year it's all about giving back to nature and restoring balance with every sip.
Having committed their entire existence to several of their own key biodiversity projects at their own vineyard, New Zealand wine Stoneleigh's latest campaign, 'Nature, this one's on us', will support biodiversity projects across the country with a substantial donation of NZ$500,000 split between multiple charities.
Stoneleigh is calling on New Zealanders to help decide how the money will be split between the three chosen organisations dedicated to restoring and protecting nature: The Kārearea/Marlborough Falcon Conservation Trust, Conservation Volunteers New Zealand and The Native Forest Restoration Trust.
"We believe getting back to nature means giving back to nature," explains Stoneleigh's Chief Winemaker, Jamie Marfell. "Every act counts, whether we're planting seeds or building an entire wetland ecosystem. At the end of the day what’s good for nature, is good for us."
From now until the end of the year, Kiwis can simply scan the QR code on any bottle of Stoneleigh and get a 'Stoneleigh Coin' which they'll then use to allocate a portion of the funds towards their pick of the charities. Each 'Stoneleigh Coin' is counted as a vote and the charities will receive a monetary donation based on the percentage of coins per charity in each market.
