A former barista has revealed how she earns a six-figure salary at just 20 years old - and it all comes down to her unshaved armpits.
The 20-year-old woman, who goes by the username Cherry the Mistress, quit her day job and dropped out of university to pursue her new career full-time - making content for the popular subscription service, OnlyFans.
Speaking to Daily Mail Australia, Cherry claimed she is currently earning upwards of AU$29,800 per month by creating erotic content for her subscribers. OnlyFans allows its creators to receive funding directly from the users who subscribe to their content - the 'fans' - on a monthly basis, as well as one-time tips and a pay-per-view feature.
The 20-year-old launched her account at the beginning of the pandemic, a time when she was a struggling student who worked at a coffee shop to make ends meet.
"I found it really difficult to have enough money to pay all my bills and live comfortably, so I started an account," she told the outlet.
Despite the service now being heavily oversaturated, Cherry's content features a distinctive characteristic that she believes sets her apart from other creators.
"[My fans] always tell me how much they love my natural curves and hairy pits," she told the Daily Mail.
Cherry's appeal partly stems from her body hair, she said, as well as her refusal to wear deodorant - two trademark features that have amassed her a legion of loyal fans online.
"I think a lot of my fans love that I don't share or wear deodorant, because it's something they don't see often," she added.
"I enjoy how I smell... I will wear non-toxic deodorant out in public if I'm going to the gym or for a hike for the sake of other people as my scent can be pretty strong - and I still do shower daily."
After six months of sharing steamy snaps on the platform, Cherry said she was earning the same amount of money from OnlyFans as she was at the coffee shop, so she decided to take a leap of faith and dive headfirst into the world of content creation.
As she pursued her newfound passion full-time, Cherry also made the decision to drop out of university - where she had been studying to become a sex therapist - to fully dedicate her focus to growing her platform.
"It would take me over 10 years to be making the money I do now," she told Daily Mail Australia. "I plan on doing OnlyFans for as long as I can."
But her money is hard-earned, with Cherry admitting there are a number of downsides to the job - including the vitriol she is subjected to online for being a "hairy woman".
"I have gotten any kind of hate comment you could think of. I've been called a man, sasquatch, and Chewbacca. I've been told that I'm gross, don't have hygiene, that I need to shave and wax my body, and that I will never find a boyfriend - which is funny because I have one - and that I will die alone.
"Years ago I would've been so upset and confused... but now I just laugh. I'm really comfortable and happy with who I am and how I look, so it doesn't affect me," she told the outlet.
However, Cherry is also keeping her career hidden from her "conservative" family, and carries the burden of knowing her choices would "greatly upset" them if they were to find out her secret.
"I know one day they will inevitably find out, and I have to be prepared for that day."
When it comes to the requests she receives from her adoring fanbase, Cherry admits it can get a little wild, revealing subscribers have asked her to sit on cakes, humiliate them over the size of their penis, or pretend to be a giantess preparing to squish them.
And embracing her natural body hair was not inspired by her newfound career path, with Cherry telling the outlet she made the conscious decision to stop shaving after realising women have been conditioned to hate their hair and remove it for men's pleasure.
"I started to question if I was shaving for the guy I'm supposed to be seeing or if I was shaving for me," she said. "I was also thinking about how shaving was such a double standard, because men don't have to shave if they don't want to, but it's pretty much expected of women."
And despite what the haters say, Cherry's job hasn't impacted her love life. The 20-year-old began dating her current partner after creating her account, and the couple are still going strong almost two years later. Her boyfriend is also very supportive of her line of work, she added.
OnlyFans, an internet content subscription service, has become a popular platform for sex workers in recent years who create and sell erotic content and amateur porn to their 'fans'. However, the service also hosts the work of other creators, such as fitness experts and musicians.
Earlier this year, a woman who had been desperate to undergo a breast reduction due to her uncomfortably large and "attention-grabbing" chest spoke out about how her assets now fund her luxurious lifestyle.
Amy Sophia, a 27-year-old from Leeds in northern England, claimed her 34HH chest even paid off her family's debilitating debt that once totalled almost £100,000 (NZ$193,000) - all thanks to her popular OnlyFans account.
