Meghan, Duchess of Sussex has shared why she rarely wore colour while living in the UK as a working member of the Royal Family.
During the third instalment of the Netflix documentary series Harry & Meghan, the former Suits star explained why she opted for mainly "muted tones" when attending events - alongside her husband, Prince Harry - from 2018 until they decided to step down as senior royals in early 2020.
"I rarely wore colour. There was thought in that. To my understanding, you can't ever wear the same colour as Her Majesty (Queen Elizabeth II) if there's a group event," she said.
"But then you also should never be wearing the same colour as one of the other more senior members of the family. So, I was like, 'Well, what a colour that they'll probably never wear? Camel? Beige? White?'"
Meghan, 41, insisted her objective was to "fit in" with her outfits.
"I'm not trying to stand out here. So, there's no version of me joining this family and trying to not do everything I could to fit in," she continued.
In the previous episode, Meghan also revealed she wore ripped jeans the first time she met Harry's brother Prince William and his wife Catherine, Princess of Wales.
"Even when Will and Kate came over, and I had met her for the first time, they came for dinner. I remember I was in ripped jeans and I was barefoot. Like I was a hugger, I've always been a hugger. I didn't realise that was really jarring for a lot of Brits," she sighed.
The first volume of Harry & Meghan is now available to stream on Netflix. The second volume will drop on December 15.
