Ah, December: the time of year when overindulgence is par for the course and coming into the office hungover is somewhat acceptable. With the festivities in full swing, more than a few of us will be feeling a bit rotten after all the boozy catch-ups with colleagues and post-Christmas party carnage.
Thankfully, a pharmacist has taken it upon herself to spread some cheer this Christmas by sharing a four-ingredient recipe she claims is "100 percent effective" at curing hangovers.
Los Angeles-based pharmacist Ari, who goes by the username @thewellnesspharm on TikTok, hails her concoction as "single-handedly the most effective way" to put paid to a dreaded post-party hangover.
To nip that headache in the bud, Ari recommends taking a B complex vitamin, followed by a folic acid supplement and magnesium before hydrating with an electrolyte drink.
Likening it to the "oral version of an IV fluid bag" - similar to those used in hospitals to prevent dehydration - Ari says her "oral banana bag" works by hydrating the body and replenishing its electrolytes.
According to Ari, the combination "works wonders" to beat a hangover caused by excessive alcohol consumption.
The video has since amassed more than 120,000 likes and almost two million views, with many viewers thanking the pharmacist for sharing her life hack.
Elaborating on the technique in the comments, Ari said the concoction can either be taken in the morning or an hour before bed.
Others took to the comments to share their own hangover cures, with one writing: "I usually eat a banana before going to bed and drink a bottle of water. In the morning I eat instant noodles because it has a lot of salt and water."
"That works great too!" Ari responded.
"Girl it's a greasy Jr Chicken and large fries with McChicken sauce," another joked, with a third adding: "Blue Gatorade and a prayer for me..
Others criticised the method however, with several noting they're so nauseous the next day, they would struggle to swallow the series of supplements and keep everything down.
"When I'm hungover I'm so sick I can't even take a sip of water much less pop pills," one said, with a second agreeing: "How am I supposed to get all these when I'm hungover, when I can't even reach my phone charger?"
"I would be throwing up the supplements," a third declared.
To put Ari's technique to the test, an Australian TikToker by the username @brokebutmakeitboujee said she tried the concoction after a wild night out - and it "really, really worked".
"This works," she said in a video shared late last month.
"Worth it to not be dying at Christmas parties... I actually felt alive the next day. So if you have this, and have some food - bread - to line your stomach, you're gonna be fine."
