A woman has recalled the awkward moment a stripper arrived at her Barbie-themed fifth birthday party - after accidentally being booked by her mother. You can brush my hair, undress me everywhere, indeed.
Taking to TikTok to regale her followers with the memorable but somewhat mortifying tale, Julia - who goes by the username @joolia_go0lia on the platform - explained how her mother had planned a Barbie-themed bash for her fifth birthday due to her love of the iconic Mattel doll.
"My parents hired an adult entertainer for my fifth birthday party by accident," Julia began in the viral clip, which has since amassed over 1.3 million views and 192,000 likes.
Clad in a hot pink shirt, Julia said she had been getting ready to see the new Barbie blockbuster when she suddenly had flashbacks of her fifth birthday and the 'Barbie' her parents had hired for the event.
"My mom said that she hired someone from the phone book, because I'm 700 years old and back then you just looked in the phone book for entertainers," she continued.
"There was one for Barbie and that was the theme - perfect. The woman shows up, and she is a stripper."
When she realised the mistake, Julia said Barbie played along - "she did not take off her clothes" - and adapted her performance to suit the young audience.
"I followed her around, thrilled that Barbie came to my birthday party, and all the parents there had a really good laugh," she added.
"I'm still waiting for proof from my mom - I swear this happened - she's going to look through pictures today, but I will show you the receipts."
In a follow-up to the viral video - and after many requests to see the evidence - Julia shared several screenshots of her messages with her mother, who said she would search for the missing photographs but worried they'd been damaged by flooding in the basement.
"I have made my mom so stressed trying to look for these," Julia admitted.
The story has sparked widespread amusement among viewers, prompting several to share their own similar stories: including one who said their mother accidentally ordered the Spice Channel instead of the Spice Girls' concert on pay-per-view.
"This happened to my parents but with a bunny for an April birthday. It was amazing," said another, with a third adding: "My mom accidentally served a rum cake at one of my parties when I was kid. Lol."
Others have applauded Barbie for making the most of the mishap, rather than abruptly leaving when she realised the brief didn't quite fit her job description.
