Taylor Swift: Travis Kelce reportedly splashes $20k on Valentine's Day gifts as popstar tours Australia

If you've ever wondered what a typical Valentine's Day might look like for an A-list couple, well, hide your wallet and gird your loins, because here is a breakdown of everything Travis Kelce reportedly purchased for Taylor Swift on February 14 - breakdown being the key word.

Kelce might be a tight end on the football field, but according to reports, he's anything but tight when it comes to spoiling his significant other. As per The US Sun, the Kansas City Chiefs star had an ambitious game plan for he and Swift's first Valentine's Day, which reportedly made a US$13,000 (about NZ$21,000) dent in his bank balance.

Swift travelled from Tokyo to Las Vegas last weekend to cheer Kelce on in Super Bowl LVIII, in which the Kansas City Chiefs triumphed against the San Francisco 49ers. Following a party to celebrate the Chiefs' victory, the 34-year-old was gone in a cloud of smoke (ahem, from her private jet) and en-route to Melbourne for the next leg of her Eras Tour.

There the hitmaker was greeted with several luxury gifts upon her arrival, including a series of opulent floral arrangements; the first being 250 'eternity' roses, which can last as long as a year if cared for correctly. That arrangement, said to be from the luxury florists Venus et Fleur, cost a cool US$2100.

A source told the outlet that Swift then received a "vibrant hot pink arrangement" of a further 250 roses - again with a US$2000 price-tag - about six hours later, which was followed by a US$3090 'eternal rose sculpture' by Perigold.

"Travis knows what she likes and is always wanting to send her lots of nice flowers. Taylor can have the little rose sculpture with her all the time," the source was quoted as saying.

But that was not all. The megastar was also said to be treated to a black lambskin beret by the luxury fashion house Dior, which is currently retailing for US$1050 on its website. This was reportedly accompanied by a Bottega Veneta Medium Andiamo handbag, which retails for US$5100. Give this man an MVP award.

Rumours are circulating that Swift will be joined by her football beau in Australia, with the star still to play four back-to-back dates in Sydney following her three shows at Melbourne's MCG Stadium last week. She will then travel to Singapore, where she is scheduled to take the stage in the first week of March.

But Kelce, 34, has also been making headlines for some not-so-good reasons, with the tight end drawing widespread criticism for shoving and shouting at head coach Andy Reid on the sidelines of the Super Bowl.

A clearly inebriated Kelce could then barely speak at the Chiefs' victory parade in Kansas City on Wednesday (local time), with his teammates forced to hold him up on stage. He was also one of several players who was seen smiling for selfies and out at a restaurant that evening, hours after gunmen opened fire at the parade - killing one and injuring 22.

"I am heartbroken over the tragedy that took place today," Kelce said in a statement to X following the shooting. "My heart is with all who came out to celebrate with us and have been affected. KC, you mean the world to me."
