Coffee recipes: Nespresso teams up with Kiwi talent to level up your at-home brew

There's nothing quite like snuggling up on a Sunday morning with a beverage in hand, and with the cold, wintry weather just around the corner, now's the perfect time to level up your at-home coffee game. 

If you're in need of inspiration, look no further: Nespresso has collaborated with four New Zealand tastemakers to create bespoke, barista-quality recipes that offer new ways to enjoy your brew, whether it's a unique roast or an elevated café classic.

The collab is part of Nespresso's latest campaign Unforgettable Recipes, which aims to highlight the versatility of its Vertuo machines and coffee capsules; a range that competes with the likes of Nescafé Dolce Gusto and other pod offerings, from L'Or to local artisans like Robert Harris.

Who are the tastemakers guiding your next caffeinated creation, you may ask? Polly Markus, the woman behind @miss_pollys_kitchen; Zeenat Wilkinson, content creator, entrepreneur and founder of Sauce magazine; Hercules Noble, private chef and internet personality; and celebrated Māori musician TEEKS.

Here are their favourite Nespresso recipes. 

Double Espresso Flat White with Polly Markus  

"I enjoy the morning ritual of crafting my own delicious cup of coffee. Every sip is a moment of preparation for the day ahead."  


  • 80ml Double Espresso Chiaro coffee  
  • 180ml full cream milk, or milk of your choice.


  1. Heat 180ml milk on a high froth setting.  
  2. Extract Double Espresso Chiaro coffee into the cup and swirl to smooth the crema.  
  3. Pour in the hot, lightly frothed milk - have fun creating a little latte art as the finishing touch.

Coffee & Collagen Smoothie with Zeenat Wilkinson  

"As a busy working mum, I cherish those precious moments to set the tone for my day ahead. For me, it's about finding balance and vitality, especially with a delicious, energising Coffee & Collagen Smoothie. It's my go-to Nespresso coffee moment, ensuring I'm ready to tackle whatever comes my way with energy and clarity."  


  • 40ml Altissio coffee  
  • 120g ice (4 large ice cubes)  
  • 100ml macadamia milk  
  • ½ tsp cacao nibs  
  • 1 tbsp peanut butter  
  • 1 scoop (2 tbsps) Vital Proteins collagen powder or equivalent
  • 1 banana.


  1. Extract the Altissio coffee into a cup.  
  2. Add all the ingredients into a blender, leaving the coffee and collagen until last.
  3. Blend until smooth. Pour into a glass and enjoy.

Iced Latte with Hercules Noble  

"Creating delicious meals is my passion, but every culinary journey needs a perfect counterpart - a moment to pause and appreciate. For me, that moment comes in the afternoon, when I indulge in an iced latte. It's not just about the refreshment, it's about elevating the ordinary into something extraordinary." 


  • 80ml Double Espresso Dolce coffee  
  • 130ml of full cream milk, or milk of your choice  
  • 120g ice cubes.


  1. Add the ice cubes to a glass.  
  2. Extract 80ml Double Espresso Dolce coffee into the glass over the ice.  
  3. Pour milk into the glass, stir and enjoy.

Strong Roasted & Stormy with TEEKS  

"Embracing life's nuances is at the heart of everything I do. I love engaging in vibrant conversations. Whether I'm sharing stories or savouring moments with those around me, every sip becomes a chance for connection."  


  • 150ml Fortado coffee  
  • 60ml pineapple juice  
  • 120ml ginger ale  
  • 2 tsp of sugar  
  • 2 pieces of fresh pineapple  
  • Fresh mint leaves.


  1. Slice the pineapple into thin triangles. Pat dry with paper towel and lightly cover the pieces with sugar.  
  2. Place the pineapple under the grill until the sugar caramelises and set aside.  
  3. Add the coffee and pineapple juice to a carafe and stir over ice for 10 seconds.  
  4. Pour evenly into two glasses with ice and top up with ginger ale.  
  5. Garnish with the pineapple and mint leaves on a wooden skewer.

Nespresso Barista Creations Flavoured Maple Pecan

To celebrate the changing seasons, the campaign also coincides with the release of a new limited-edition Maple Pecan coffee as part of Nespresso's popular Barista Creations Flavoured range. The new addition features a hit of caramel sweetness and the nutty character of pecans, teamed with the biscuit note of Latin American and African Arabica coffee.  

It can be enjoyed with a dash of milk as a smooth Reverso, or splashed over ice to dial up its creamy character.
