Noni juice exporter lists on the stock market

A company that exports Manuka honey and Noni juice to China has become the first stock market listing of the year.

Oceania Natural listed 25.7 million shares at 64 cents each on the new NXT board, which is designed for small companies gain access to the stock market.

The shares opened trading at 74 cents, a 10 cent premium.

Chief executive and chairperson Walker Zhong owns 62 percent of the company.

He said Oceania Natural wanted to attract investment from Chinese capital markets and listing made his company more trustworthy.

Oceania Natural makes food supplements from New Zealand Manuka honey and Noni juice from the Cook Islands.

Mr Zhong says the natural health products market in China was worth about $100 billion.
