The last company producing VCRs is about to hit stop.
According to reports in Japanese media, Funai will make its last video player at the end of July. The company says it's becoming too difficult to source the parts.

VHS cassettes first hit the market in the late 1970s, overcoming the rival Betamax format to dominate the 1980s and 1990s home video market.
Funai began making VCRs - videocassette recorders - in 1983, at its peak selling 15 million a year. Last year it managed to sell 750,000, even with competition from Blu-Ray, DVD, hard drive recorders and the internet.
