Now is the time to book your flights to London, with record low fares starting from Sunday.
Flight Centre is among those offering flights from Auckland to the British capital for as low as $1349.
In 2012, the agency's lowest return airfare to London was $2349 - $1000 more - and aviation commentator Irene King says the price drop is astonishing.
"When I saw the airfares I thought, 'Holy moly'. I've never, ever seen anything so cheap," she said.
Flight Centre NZ general manager Sean Berenson says the increase in competition and plane capacity is benefiting those flying to the British capital.
"It's hard to know how long this golden era of travel will continue - so my advice would be for Kiwis to make the most of these record lows and travel far and wide while it's so affordable and accessible," he said.
However Ms King warns that the lower prices may come at a cost to comfort.
"I do know that there's some pretty long layovers at some pretty undesirable airports - so clearly they're going to have to incentivise Kiwis to travel on those flights," she said.
Ms King said an influx of new airlines means the market may soon be even more competitive.
