Would your home pass the Wellington rental home warrant of fitness test?

Wellington on Friday unveiled its voluntary warrant of fitness scheme for rental homes.

To get the tick, landlords will need to prove their properties are up to scratch in 29 different areas.

Mayor Justin Lester says owners can use it to prove to prospective tenants they are good and responsible landlords.

"We want to lift rental standards in our city and make better accommodation available for people. Every Wellingtonian deserves a warm, dry home," says Mr Lester.

Thinking about renting out your home, or wondering if you even could? Take the test below and find out.

You need 100 percent to pass - and since an inspection costs $250, taking this test first could save you a lot of money.
