Lotto results: From 40 winners to zero

Lotto's gone from dozens of first division winners to zero.

No one picked the lucky numbers in Saturday night's draw, but one lucky punter did pick up the Strike prize of $200,000.

The winning ticket was sold in Timaru at a Pak'nSave supermarket.

Powerball will jackpot to $5 million and first division will remain at $1 million on Wednesday.

Last Wednesday, a strange sequence of numbers saw 40 people share the first division prize, getting only $25,000 each. Two of them also hit the Powerball and took home more than $2 million each.

Mathematically, if people chose their numbers purely randomly the result was near impossible, but many players don't choose their numbers randomly.

The winning numbers in the latest draw were 3, 22, 25, 35, 36 and 38. The Powerball was 2, the Bonus ball 7. Strike was 25, 38, 36 and 22.

A $2.5 million Powerball prize from Hastings is yet to be claimed.
