Sydney woman wins AU$107m Powerball prize, biggest win in Australia's Lotto history

A Sydney woman has made Australian Lotto history by winning the entire $AU107 million (NZ$114m) Powerball jackpot on Thursday night.

The woman who is a healthcare professional says she won't be retiring because she is so passionate about her job.

"It will drive me to do more health work for causes important to me," she said.

The woman, in her 40s and remains anonymous, took home the whopping prize after a Lottery official contacted her to let her know of the winnings.

She originally thought she had won AU$107,000 and was shocked to discover she had won a whole lot more money, Lotto said.

"Is this actually real? I don't believe it. I don't believe it. Is this a trick?" she said.

"Wait are you telling me I've won $107 million?! Oh my god! That is just so much money!

"I'm not sure how I will be able to sleep tonight, but for now I'm going to go have a cheap glass of chardonnay."

She plans to celebrate the prize by giving some of the winnings to her favourite charity as well as doing some travel.
