Powerball's been struck for the second weekend in a row, with a lucky gambler from Christchurch now $5.5 million richer.
Of that, $5 million came from the Powerball and the remainder from the first division prize pool.
The winning ticket was sold on MyLotto.
A west Auckland couple took home $8 million last weekend.
"As I watched the numbers being circled one by one, I started to get excited," one of them said after the draw. "By the time the sixth number was about to be drawn, I was beside myself."
A Wellington player who picked up a ticket at Unichem Cuba Mall won $500,000 on Saturday night, netting the first division prize without the Powerball.
Strike Four rolled over and will be $200,000 on Wednesday.
The winning numbers were 1, 2, 27, 35, 36 and 40. The Powerball was 4, the Bonus ball 3. Strike was 36, 1, 35 and 2.
