A creative real estate agent may have come up with a way to save KiwiBuild - offer a free sports car with every purchase.
The next owner of a property north of Auckland will also find themselves in possession of a $250,000 Maserati.
"It's a first for New Zealand by a long shot," says Century 21 Collett Realty owner Liam Collett.
"A brand-new Maserati will look perfectly at home at this remarkable property," said colleague Donna 'Beckett. "What's more, the long concrete driveway and sealed road mean no dust."
You might have guessed there is a catch, however - this isn't for first-home buyers. It's a 20-plus hectare lifestyle block in Waitoki with an asking price of $6,295,000 - 10 times what a KiwiBuild property costs and, according to Collett, offers an "absolute dream lifestyle" with three bathrooms.
"The fact that the buyer will also drive away in a brand-new Maserati is more than icing on the cake."
