Lotto: Lucky Auckland player takes home $10.3 million

A whopping $10.3 million was won by a lucky Lotto player on Wednesday evening.

Powerball's first division was taken out by someone who purchased their ticket at Richmond Rd Superette in Auckland. The winnings are made up of $10 million from Powerball's first division and $333,333 from Lotto's first division.

Two others - from Auckland and Tauranga - also took home $333,333 each with first division. Those tickets were both sold on MyLotto.

Strike Four, meanwhile, has rolled over to $600,000 on Saturday night.

The big Powerball win comes only three weeks after a New Plymouth family took home $7.3 million. They will spend their money building their dream home.

Lotto says anyone who purchased their ticket at the Richmond Rd Superette should write their name on the back of the ticket and check it at any outlet, online at MyLotto or through the Lotto NZ app.

Wednesday's win is the largest since May 13 when a Hamilton player won $10.3 million. The largest win this year was $25.1 million. Two players took that home in February when the massive $50 million draw was split.
