A man has been impaled and critically injured in a road smash on Auckland's North Shore this morning.
The car he was driving ran off Fairview Avenue near Oteha Valley Road and crashed into a fence at about 3:30am.
He was rushed to hospital with multiple injuries.
Police say he was alone in the vehicle and the crash is being investigated.
