A blaze has gutted part of a central Auckland laundromat.
Fire crews were called to the premises in Sandringham around 2:30am this morning.
Senior Avondale station officer Chris Todd says luckily no one was inside at the time, as crews arrived to find the building full of smoke.
"We're just trying to establish the cause of it. We have fire investigators on the way."
Six fire trucks attended, but couldn't stop part of the building being gutted.
It's unclear whether the fire's suspicious. A fire investigator will return to the scene this morning.
