Dunedin AOS raid leads to robbery charges

  • 25/08/2015

A Dunedin man has been charged with aggravated robbery, robbery and assault with a weapon following an Armed Offenders Squad (AOS) call out in suburb of Mornington yesterday.

The 26-year-old appeared before a court this morning and was charged over an incident in the Octagon on Thursday, where a victim's cellphone and cigarettes were stolen, police say.

Police are reassuring the locals the armed response was a precaution, and say they should not be concerned.

No one else is being sought in relation to the incident.
