A man is in a critical condition after falling down five floors of a lift shaft at a construction site in Auckland.
Police, fire and ambulance crews were called to the scene at a Countdown Supermarket in the Auckland suburb of Ponsonby at around 10am this morning.
Ambulance workers helped fire officers extract the man out the lift.
He remains in a critical condition at Auckland City Hospital.
Police are investigating the incident.
