A woman has died and a man is injured following a possible single car crash in the remote Haast Pass this morning.
Police were called to the scene on State Highway 6 around 10am, and say the circumstances are yet to be confirmed because of its remote location.
A serious crash investigation is underway, and police are asking the public to drive with extreme care because of the winter conditions in Westland.
