A family in Tokoroa is being torn apart after renting a house they believe was used as a clandestine meth lab.
The parents are being forced to stay and live in the house and sacrifice their health, while their children are staying with friends.
It was only after a chance encounter with a previous tenant that the parents finally learned what was going on.
When the previous tenant had four different meth tests done on the house, all four came back positive.
But the landlord denies knowing anything about the tests, or the real condition of the rental.
