'Missing' Wellington dad returns from Thailand

A Wellington father, artist and well-known furniture designer has just arrived back in New Zealand after he went missing for 10 days in Thailand.

Andrew Missen had been in Ko Samui, an island in the Gulf of Thailand, and his daughter Teal Edwards-Missen said he never made it to his original flight back to New Zealand.

However, 3 News has learned Mr Missen has just arrived in Auckland this afternoon.

In a Facebook post last night, 15-year-old Ms Edwards-Missen said her family hadn't heard from her father from in more than 10 days.

"Attached is a photo of him, please please please share this for me, he's my best friend and we're all so worried," she wrote.

The post had been shared more than 500 times.

Mr Missen has made furniture and fittings for a number of people, businesses, bars and restaurants including The Deluxe, Chow, Maranui and Hummingbird.

His website also says he worked with New Zealand celebrity chef Al Brown to make chairs, tables and fittings for his restaurants.
