Rod Petricevic will be released on Monday, having served half of his six-and-a-half-year sentence.

Today the Sensible Sentencing Trust tried to block that release.

When Bridgecorp collapsed in 2007, it owed investors over $400 million.

Petricevic wasn't in court today. The trust's lawyer and former ACT MP David Garrett said early release of white collar fraudsters sets a dangerous precedent.

Bridgecorp investor, Ross Fountain, lost $250,000 from Bridgecorp and other failed finance companies. He supports the trust's legal action, but says nothing will replace the money so many lost.

But the Parole Board argued in court that Petricevic is low-risk and unlikely to reoffend - he's undergone counselling and psycological assessment.

Justice Ellis' decision released late this afternoon rejected the trust's bid, saying it had no standing to seek the review, so Petricevic will be spending his last weekend in prison.

He will be released on Monday.
