Police have been searching the water around Auckland's viaduct for signs of a student missing since the early hours of Sunday.
Mandeep Singh, 20, was last seen leaving Bungalow 8 bar in the viaduct after he was asked to leave by staff.
"He was showing signs of intoxication and was therefore asked to leave," says Showcase Hospitality general manager Richard McCabe.
"We are cooperating with the police and have provided them with video footage from our CCTV cameras which shows him leaving the building of his own accord and remaining outside the bar for a further 20 minutes."
Police have been speaking with Mr Singh's friends and family, and have confirmed the cookery student spoke with a friend on the phone after he was asked to leave the bar.
Police say they've searched water in the immediate area of the bar, but there are no signs of Mr Singh.
His friends and family have put up missing posters around the area.
Mr Singh failed to show up to his culinary arts course at the Cornell Institute of Business and Technology on Monday.
Police are also speaking to those who knew the young Indian man and following up on new leads to piece together his movements after leaving the bar.
Acting Detective Senior Sergeant Marcia Murray is appealing for help from anyone who may have seen Mr Singh in the city about 3am on Sunday.
Mr Singh was wearing a blue collared shirt, blue jeans and is described as having a slim build with brown hair and brown eyes.
