One man's in hospital and another is behind bars after a high-speed police chase in north-eastern Christchurch this morning.
Police saw a stolen vehicle in Burwood around 2am, but Sergeant Chris Brooks says it took off and slammed into a tree.
"Most occupants of the stolen car are unlicensed, and one has gone to hospital with serious injuries."
Sgt Brooks says Burwood has become a hotspot for car theft.
