Police have named man found dead in a Rotorua hot pool on Tuesday as 67-year-old Kerry Hern.
Police say there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the incident and the death has been referred to the coroner.
Mr Hern's body was initially found by a member of the public who then contacted police.
A recovery mission took several hours due to safety concerns over the scorching hot temperature of the pool.
Police are working with Mr Hern's family, and victim support has been offered to them.
In 2010 a 10-year-old boy died after falling into the same pools.
