Police are looking for a 69-year-old man who was last seen in the Auckland suburb of Blockhouse Bay around 7:20 last night.

Solomani Kumi has been diagnosed with hypertension, dementia, type 2 diabetes and dyslipidaemia. He is due to take his medication at 8:00am today.

He is a Fijian man of medium build and around 1.7m tall, and speaks Fijian and English.

Police say apart from the obvious concerns of an elderly man being out overnight, his medical issues are not life threatening.

He has been described as a fast walker, and police say this is not the first time he's gone missing. On two previous occasions he was found in Sandringham and near the Harbour Bridge.
