A man on home detention has gone missing in the Wellington region after removing his electronic monitoring bracelet.

Sakaio McBeth has been on the run since Monday. Police have a warrant for his arrest for a family violence matter, and for breaching home detention conditions.

The 35-year-old is of Pacific Island descent, approximately 184cm tall and of medium build.

Police say he is not to be approached by the public, but if he is seen to call 111.
