Police have confirmed the identities of the three Mongrel Mob members who died after their car plunged down a cliff near Wairoa on Saturday.
31-year-old Terry Stone, 53-year-old Ronald Rigby and 29-year-old Nathan Isaac were all from Wairoa and were on their way to the Mongrel Mob’s 50th celebrations.
One other passenger was injured when the car plunged 150 metres into the Mohaka River. He was treated at Wairoa Hospital for minor injuries.
State Highway 2 is still closed while an Air Force helicopter works to retrieve the crashed car from the river.
Police are still investigating why the car went off the road.
