The late Sir Peter Blake has become the second New Zealander inducted into world sailing's Hall of Fame.

The 53-year-old, who was killed in a pirate attack on the Amazon River in 2001, led Team New Zealand to two America's Cup victories and held the record for the fastest circumnavigation of the planet.

He joins fellow Kiwi, Olympic windsurfing champion Barbara Kendall, who was inducted to the Sailing Hall of Fame eight years ago.
