Fire Safety investigators are trying to find out what caused a major blaze at a high rise office building in Auckland last night.
The fire broke out on the fifth floor of the BDO building in Takapuna around 9pm and spread to part of the sixth floor.
Assistant area commander John Booth said "It stood out like a roman candle for a little while. Guys who were coming across the Harbor Bridge could see it. In the end we would've hand 20 appliances here with 60 or 70 firefighters."
No one was injured and many of the firefighters were sent home within half an hour.
