This could definitely be a contender for best beach on the planet - and you could own it.

A seven hectare "utopia" is up for grabs if you have a spare $2 million.

Awaroa Inlet in the Abel Tasman National Park is for sale, including its surrounding native bush and 800 metres of golden sand beach.

Bayleys real estate agent Glenn Dick says it's right in the heart of the National Park and the property is only accessible by plane, boat or foot.

"It's pretty unique in the fact that it's got riparian right ownership [foreshore/water rights] for that whole beach right out to the point of the spit," he says.

The property has three dwellings including a woolshed and converted fishing vessel. Mr Dick wasn't too sure how the fishing vessel originally got there.

"There's been a lot of interest from far and wide so it's going to be interesting to see what happens," he says.

The New Zealand owners already had a number of properties and didn't get to the inlet enough to make it worth it.

Tender offers for this little slice of paradise are due mid-February.
