Moderate quake jolts lower North Island

The lower North Island has been shaken by a magnitude 4.7 quake.

The jolt struck around 12:36pm, located 20km west of Pongaroa.

The moderate quake was at a depth of 22 kilometres and was felt by around 400 people, according to GeoNet.

There has also been a smaller 2.6 magnitude shake in the same area.
