One person has died following a crash north of Katikati in Bay of Plenty this afternoon.
Emergency services were called to the collision between two cars on State Highway 2 around 3:30pm.
It is understood multiple other passengers were involved, some suffering from injuries.
The road has been reduced to one lane. Motorists are asked to take care in the vicinity.
