A passenger has been taken to hospital after being cut from a car using the Jaws of Life near Kaiapoi, north of Christchurch.
The vehicle is believed to have rolled and hit a tree on Two Chain Rd, Swannanoa just before 8am this morning.
No other vehicles were involved and police are yet to confirm whether there was another passenger in the car.
Emergency services are still on site.
