One lane of State Highway 1 has reopened after a crash saw two people injured when a truck collided with a car in the South Island.

Emergency services were called out to the crash site at the Weld Pass, near Seddon, just after 9:30am today.

Police said two injured people were being treated by an ambulance and a helicopter had been sent out.

Diversions were put in place but drivers have been told to expect delays due to a single vehicle crash on the diversion route.
