Police are looking to find a man who threatened liquor staff with a machete in Putaruru, southeast of Hamilton last night.
The offender was demanding money but one of the staff members reached for the machete causing the man to drop it as he ran along Arapuni St around 9:50pm.
He was last seen running onto Glenshea St.
The staff member was treated at the scene for a minor injury on his hand.
The offender is understood to be in his teens or early 20s, short and stocky, and approximately 165cm tall wearing a black jacket with no sleeves, a black cap and white shoes.
