The Christchurch Boys' head boy who made headlines after making a spine-tingling speech last year, has announced he's officially in remission.
Jake Bailey released a photo taken today, along with a statement saying his intense chemotherapy has been successful.
He says he plans to share his experiences to help young people or others who are facing challenges, in the hopes it may help others deal with their own struggles.
In November, the Christchurch Boys' High School pupil spoke at his school prizegiving a week after being diagnosed with Burkitts non-Hodgkin's lymphoma.
A YouTube video of his inspirational speech currently has 1.6 million views.
