Police investigating a violent assault on an elderly woman in Botany yesterday want to speak to Rangi Joseph Harris.
The 75-year-old is now in a serious but stable condition at Middlemore Hospital following the incident around midday yesterday.
She had been visiting a relative at a rest home when she was attacked.
The alleged offender is known to the victim and was reportedly visiting the same person.
Police say the woman has been kicked and punched and stomped on during the assault so severely she was admitted to intensive care.
Harris is a person of interest to police, and they are asking anybody with information regarding his whereabouts to get in touch immediately.
He is said to be driving a silver-grey 2008 Kia Sportage with the registration ESJ406.
Police say he has connections in Manukau, Sandringham and Freemans Bay areas.
