Three fire crews spent about three hours battling a blaze that destroyed a house on Auckland's Waiheke Island yesterday morning.
Emergency services were called to Hunterville Rd, Orapiu around 4:15am.
The house was burnt to the ground and the fire moved through nearby scrub. Firefighters extinguished the blaze by around 7am.
A helicopter was on standby, but was stood down.
Nobody was hurt in the fire.
A Fire Service spokesperson said the cause of the fire is being investigated.
