Armed man robs Whanganui dairy

A man brandishing a pistol and wearing a helmet has stolen a number of items from a Whanganui dairy this afternoon.

The suspect is said to have walked into Durie St Dairy on Portal St in Durie Hill where he stole some items before running off towards a school.

The dairy worker was not physically hurt but is extremely distressed.

The man was wearing a long-sleeved black top, black pants and was carrying a bag. He was wearing a multi-coloured motorcycle helmet.

Police want anyone who saw a man fitting this description, or who can identify him, to contact Detective Aaron Bunker at the Whanganui police station on (06) 351 3600, or anonymously through Crimestoppers.
